BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) lets participating inboxes show your brand logo beside authenticated mail. BIMI readiness is not just a logo upload: it depends on enforced DMARC, a valid BIMI DNS record, an approved SVG logo and, for some providers, a verified mark certificate.
Why mailbox providers enforce this
BIMI only works when receivers can trust the sender identity behind the logo. That is why DMARC enforcement comes first. If your domain still uses p=none, if your logo file is invalid, or if the certificate requirement is unmet for a provider, the logo will not display even when SPF and DKIM pass.
How to fix it
- Move DMARC to an enforced policy: p=quarantine or p=reject, with full rollout rather than a small pct sample.
- Publish a BIMI TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain with v=BIMI1 and an HTTPS logo URL.
- Use a BIMI-compatible SVG logo profile and host it over HTTPS with a valid certificate.
- Add a Verified Mark Certificate or Common Mark Certificate URL when the inbox provider requires one.
- Test with real provider inboxes after DNS propagation; BIMI display is provider-specific and can lag behind DNS correctness.

Does BIMI help deliverability?
BIMI is not a bypass for spam filters. Its real value is brand trust in inboxes that display it, and it forces the authentication discipline providers already care about.
Can I use BIMI with DMARC p=none?
No. BIMI requires an enforced DMARC policy, typically p=quarantine or p=reject, because receivers will not show a brand logo for an identity the domain owner has not protected.
